Steven's passion for travel and adventure has been a driving force since childhood. Growing up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, he developed a deep love for the outdoors, eagerly anticipating the days he could spend backpacking, fishing, or hiking. Then, at the age of 16, he discovered rock climbing, and it instantly captured his heart. He vividly remembers gazing up at climbers dangling off the sheer face of El Capitan in Yosemite Valley, wondering, “Will I ever be able to do that?”

Fast forward 30+ years, and not only has Steven fulfilled that early dream of climbing El Capitan multiple times via various routes, he has also traversed the globe in search of exotic destinations, challenging climbs, and ever-more challenging adventures. For Steven, the most profound and fulfilling experiences are found in attempting demanding objectives in remote and committed locations. Some of his most cherished memories include ascending 3,000-foot high walls in the Canadian Rockies and attempting first ascents in the rugged terrains of Alaska and Pakistan.

Over his decades of climbing Steven has immersed himself in all facets of the sport, including traditional climbing, sport climbing, alpine climbing, big wall climbing, ice climbing, and mountaineering. His travels have spanned six continents, and he has organized numerous expeditions to some of the planet’s most inaccessible regions.

He believes that true growth comes from embracing the spirit of exploration and persevering through demanding challenges. Steven believes that we all possess the potential for extraordinary experiences; it’s purely a matter of summoning the courage to take that first step and pursuing our passions with unwavering commitment.
